This was a great house for our family to stay at while on vacation. It was very clean and comfortable. Only drawback is steps to the 2nd floor are very steep. Otherwise we would rent this house again.

Overall, the house was great. The back sun porch provided an extra place to read and relax. This house is about 7 blocks from the beach, an easy drive or bike ride. There is free parking close to the beach so the location was not a problem. We enjoyed using the outdoor grill for our meals. As noted in the description the stairs are slightly steeper than normal, so they may not be suitable for everyone. The swing on the front porch was enjoyable as well. The main negative comment would be that the kitchen is not fully stocked with everything we needed. We had to buy some items that we had not planned on (stock pot, knives, Rubbermaid). Other than that we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay at Summer's Gate. We enjoyed the warm beach water, crabbing from the pier at night and taking a tour of the new Cape Charles Brewery. We rented jet skis from Posiedon Water sports and had a wonderful time on the water near the Bay Bridge. We loved seeing the dolphins up close. The town offers concerts on Saturday nights and we went to one of those also. Cape Charles is a great little town, everything is nearby. Quiet streets are great for walking or bike riding. It was very cool to see the sunset over the water with having to go to the West Coast.
