I’d be surprised if this review is allows to be viewed. Cute small cottage in great location. We found it clean but in need of tweaks. No air conditioning on second floor. Screened back porch provides ideal view of bay and green space but is in dire need of better painting and furniture. Tom T

The cottage was in such a perfect location. I could see a family with children absolutely loving it. The screened porch was so nice to sit with a cup of coffee watching the mornings coming alive. We spent a lot of time walking around the area. Dining could not be better whether breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This was another amazing week at Cape Charles. The house was in a perfect location to allow our boys to ride a few places solo on bikes. We could easily run back and forth from our beach chairs for snacks or restroom visits. Such a lovely, clean space! Location can't be beat!

Very clean and organized house, awesome location, house lives larger than it looks, great value for the price point.

We were in the area for a local fishing tournament. The location of the home was perfect. The home met all of our needs. The home was neat and orderly. Everything that we needed was available for use.

This was one of the nicest cabins we have rented. Views were amazing, cabin was very comfortable. The beach was lovely, never very crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, and also had fun studying the wildlife here. Lots to do here and we wished we could have stayed longer!!

The town is a beautiful place to visit, quiet and relaxing. The home is at the end of a street with an unobstructed view of the ocean, which is about a two block walk with beach access. The water was as warm as bath water, and there were little to no waves. Very enjoyable.

The town of Cape Charles is wonderful. It is very non-commercial and charming, though small. I felt like we stepped back in time -- in a very positive way. The management company was very responsive and helpful. The house was location is excellent. The house itself is good, but not great.

Great Location, So close to the beach access!
One complaint is that some of the reviews mentioned a fire pit in the shed so I did not bring one. The Shed was locked and no key was found.
Other than that it was very clean and a very fun place to stay for the weekend.

The house was cute and I think it was pretty clean. It worked for me and my purposes. I get the feeling we were the first guest there in a while. The internet wasn't working, but the property manager came and fixed it when I let him know without hesitation. He was kind and attentive. Little things seemed to be over looked like the dining room light wasn't working, the back porch was clean-ish but needed a freshen up, my bed was made, but the bedspread was in a pile on the chair. Like I said, the first tenants in a long while. The kitchen was well stocked and the dishwasher worked great,; often my usual complaints.

Ultimately, I was pretty happy, the location was great and you know what they say, "Location, location, location!"

Beautiful view from the back porch which was a big part of selecting our home for this year. The home is fully loaded in the kitchen except for a deep fryer which we used outside. Would not have needed to bring a kitchen item at all. It would be nice if the disclosed what you could use from the shed or home with a book in the house. We brought a fire pit that I was told I could and they had one in the shed. Grill is small but works.

We had a terrific experience booking and staying at Bayview Cottage. After receiving a recommendation and viewing photos online, we inquired about reserving a week at Bayview Cottage and received a prompt reply. With little effort, we were able to reserve the week we wanted. We received information about activities in the town and were able to pick up the key after hours with no difficulty. The cottage was as advertised. We could see the beach from the cottage and could walk over in about two minutes. All was clean when we arrived, and we enjoyed the cable TV and WiFi. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to book this cottage again if we return to Cape Charles.

Bright, clean comfortable cottage, with a back yard perfect for little sandy feet, s'mores and chasing fireflies. Quick acces to the beach.

The outdoor shower, screened in porch with view of the bay, shed for beach gear storage, and location of this house is unbeatable. A great house for family or for a quieter getaway. We loved every second and wish we didn't have to leave. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at the cottage. It was very fresh and clean and looks as if it were recently updated. It is just steps to the beach and a 5 minute walk to downtown.

This little house was a ton of fun and very comfortable. On arrival it was really easy to pick up keys and get in for the night.

Some positive things:
The view isn't a lie, you can see the bay from several windows and the little porch is cute and a nice spot to be lazy on
A statue of poseidon and the beach is small walk away, good for a small stroll
Kitchen has plenty of things for making a big meal
The beds (according to me and my friends) were quite comfortable

Some things that could be improved:
The towels are REALLY linty (if that is a word) Like, if you whipe your face down with the in-house towels you would get small pieces of white lint all over your face
There was no hand/body soap provided---we left two dove bars for the next residents
There is a coffee maker but no filters---people rarely bring filters with them (not a biggie, I improvised)
The internet was unplugged---not sure why. I was able to fix it, but I am a millennial so maybe older generations may not be too sure of how to fix it.

overall, we had a great stay, everyone had their own privacy and was super comfortable. Not to mention the wedding party/places we needed to be were very close.

cheers,
Ryan
