Great stay at this 1800's beach house. Comfortable with two separate areas for living so kids can stay in their own space. Great front porch, we lived out there, truly! Friendly place with everyone waving hello as they walked bye. The bedrooms had nice touches and nice sleeping areas. You did have to go through one bedroom to get to the next, but that was clear and was not an issue at all. Kitchen is updated with new cabinets as was bath. Used outdoor shower constantly for kids when we came from beach. Walkable and we loved the beach wagon provided there. This is an older home but it was very well kept, clean, and reflected neutral beachy colors, and charm. Our daughter loved the mermaid theme and we had a truly memorable family trip. We will rent this again next summer.

The rental was all we needed in a beach house. Cozy and comfortable for 2 couples. Good space in the kitchen for multiple cooks and lots of good places to hang out, lounge and relax. the reservation and checkin/checkout process we're both seamless and easy.

It's been now 10 years of visiting Cape Charles, and we simply love it! the perfect place to be for a vataction! Cassatt Cottage is a historic buliding (1886) so there are some cracks in the wall, which could be fixed. The thing bewildering us was, half of the light bulps were missing, no Toilet paper and detergent in stock. Usaly all the houses we rented had the major surply's in storage. We went shoping to refill. Besides this, the house in total was very comfortable and cozy! The porch we loved all day and night, great to relax and hang out!!! Kitchen well stocked, outside shower new, grill working. We would recommend this House!

We had a nice stay at the Cassatt Cottage. It was clean and tidy when we first arrived. The cottage had everything we needed. It is a little older looking and the plaster on the walls was cracked in the bedrooms, but overall it was clean and brightly painted with soothing ocean colors. We noticed a few issues upon arrival and contacted the management company who took steps to remedy each of these the same day they were reported. One of the cable boxes was out, the faucet was leaking and needed to be replaced, the blinds in the bathroom were broken, and the kitchen rug was slipping all over the floor. The management company made arrangements to have someone at the house so that we did not have to wait around for cable and maintenance. The upstairs bedrooms do get a little warm, we ran the fans in the afternoon and evening and this seemed to help. The location is nice, very convenient to much of downtown, you could walk to the beach, but it is a little bit of a hike with beach gear. We had a very nice time and really enjoyed coffee on the front porch each morning. The neighborhood is quiet and very family friendly.

The gas grill tank was empty. Several lightbulbs were out. The toilet paper holder was not instald. (My husband fixed it). The TV next to the dining room fell off the stand when we went to use it. (My husband fixed it. We were told to start a laundry but there was no detergent.the property was very clean however the furniture was worn. Regardless of our disapointment in the cottage. We had a good time visiting with our children

Cassatt Cottage was perfect for our long weekend. The price and location were just right as we spent the majority of our time out on the water or in town.

The cottage was charming and clean. Great location within walking distance of the beach. The booking agents were really helpful and responsive. My only complaint is you have to walk through one bedroom to get to another bedroom which was an odd layout.

My family and I (wife, two kids under 10 and a dog) had a very nice mid-week stay at the property. Good proximity to the beach, which is about 4 blocks away and certainly walk-able if you're so inclined. The house had plenty of space for the five of us and was well-kept. The grill and washer/drier were great assets, too. One issue worth noting was that the A/C worked well on the first floor of the house even during the hottest part of the summer day, but was pretty much non-existent on the second floor, which was subsidized with ceiling fans and floor fans. Not an issue for us as we were only upstairs to sleep in the evening after the sun went down, but noteworthy. We loved the scarcity of people on the beach as well as how shallow the water was (no concerns with small kids). We'll definitely be back.

Older rental, clean - but warm in bedroom. you have a leak under the sink & we never used the outside shower but it was wet around the outer slab. Needs wall repair behind shower & upstairs.

My family stayed at Cassatt Cottage for a week in July 2016. For 10 years this is the only home our family has stayed in twice. It was great for the four+ of us. (Mom, dad, 7yo, 2yo, and dog) It's nice to have two sitting areas with the kitchen in between to have some space between kids and adults. There is only one bathroom and you do have to walk through one bedroom to get to another. No problem for us since our son is a heavy sleeper. And no issues with hot water. The washer/drier is small but probably better than the one we have at home. The wifi worked great. The TV has Netflix built in and we logged into our account. The décor was very cute. My daughter loved the mermaids. This will be the first house we look at when we make out 2017 vacation plans.
